Dr. Jesse Patton, DVM
Oklahoma State University, 2019. Jesse bought this practice in June 2019, when it was still Renegar Animal Hospital. He’s one of the last large-animal veterinarians in Pittsburg County, and he’s at the McAlester stockyards every Tuesday.
Dr. Steve Walker, DVM
Oklahoma State University. Licensed in Oklahoma since 1974, which makes him the most experienced veterinarian practicing in this county. He’s here Tuesdays and Fridays, and he and Dr. Patton alternate weekends.
You’ll get told what’s going on with your animal in plain words.
The medicine gets serious when it needs to. The conversation doesn’t. Nobody here is going to put on a white coat and talk over your head to prove a point.

I brought my cat in to get spayed the other day, and the surgery was perfect. Patton is a wonderful doctor. There were some issues I had with the aftercare, but when I was able to speak to Patton, he truly felt bad and wanted to fix things to make sure it didn't happen again. He is truly the kindest doctor I have ever spoken to, and I'm grateful he was the one who did the surgery and the one I spoke to. I have always loved this place and think everyone is truly wonderful there. I've never had any problems until this one time, but regardless, this is the best place for animal care.
Patton, Babette, Rayne, Linsey, Dr. Walker, and the team have always provided the sweetest, most loving, kindest, and knowledgeable care to my furbabies. From surgeries to basic shots, I have witnessed the love and care put into each vet visit. I appreciate this staff so much. When I lost my dog Nitto to a chew bone, they allowed me to have an ongoing "Nitto's Blanket Drive" that I am forever thankful for during the grieving process. RIP to our loving Nitto and Auto. Thank you for the continued care for Rusty, Goldie, Okie, and Mr. Juice Pickles Jr.
